Install Makatib.App on your phone

Makatib.App can sit on your Home Screen and open like an app. There is nothing to download from an app store, and installing it does not create a new account. Sign in with the same details you already use.

iPhone or iPad

1. Open makatib.app in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the Share button. Depending on your Safari layout, it may be at the bottom of the screen or inside the page menu.
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If shown, leave Open as Web App switched on.
4. Tap Add, then open Makatib.App from its new Home Screen icon.

Can’t see Add to Home Screen? Scroll to the bottom of the Share menu, choose Edit Actions, and add it there. Make sure you opened the site in Safari rather than inside an email or messaging app.

Android

1. Open makatib.app in Chrome and sign in.
2. Tap the three-dot menu beside the address bar.
3. Tap Add to home screen, then Install. On some phones, the first option is labelled Install app instead.
4. Open Makatib.App from the new icon on your Home Screen.

Turn on phone notifications

Open the installed app and sign in. In your account or profile menu, find Phone notifications and tap Enable on this device. Your phone may then ask you to allow notifications. Notification previews stay private: they tell you that something new has arrived without showing the message text.

Installing Makatib.App is optional. You can always continue using it in your normal web browser.
