For adult learners, parents and guardians

Using the student and parent portal

The same portal serves adult learners, parents and guardians. An adult learner sees their own record. A parent or guardian sees only the children the madrassa has linked to their account and they are currently authorised to access.

Adult learner accounts

Adult learners use the portal with first-person wording and sign in with their own email address. Their record becomes available from their eighteenth birthday and includes their attendance, progress, tasks, results, fees and messages.

A parent or guardian linked before the learner turns 18 keeps Full access by default. The adult learner can change that person to Finance only or No access, and can restore full access later. Finance-only access covers the relevant fee information but excludes learning records, care information and messaging. A guardian linked after age 18 receives no access until the learner chooses a level.

Activate your account

Open the invitation from your madrassa and choose a password. If you already have an account with the same madrassa, the new access is added to that login rather than requiring another account. For a parent or guardian, a newly linked sibling appears under the existing login. Use Forgot password? on the login page if needed.

Display and accessibility

The sign-in journey and shared Student and Parent Portal are being designed and tested against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. They support keyboard navigation, screen readers, browser zoom and magnification, and Windows High Contrast Mode. They work with the assistive technology already provided by your browser or device rather than replacing it.

Select the Aa display settings button on the sign-in page or in the portal header. You can choose Default, Large or Extra large text, an appearance of Match device, Light, Dark or Inverted, and Standard or High contrast. Match device follows the light or dark setting of your browser or device. Inverted already uses the highest contrast available, so the contrast choice does not apply to it. Published examination reports stay on a light background so they match how they print. Each choice is remembered in that browser. Use Reset settings to return to the standard presentation. Read the full accessibility statement for the current scope, testing status and contact details.

Open your own record or move between children

An adult learner opens their own card for the detailed record. A parent or guardian sees one card per authorised child and can switch children without signing out. If a record is missing, ask the madrassa to check the student account or guardian access on the student record.

Attendance, progress and tasks

  • Attendance shows recent marks and the current-term picture.
  • Progress shows dated Quran and subject entries recorded by teachers.
  • Tasks shows set work, due dates, attachments and completion status.

These records come directly from the teaching workspace. Contact the madrassa if an entry needs correcting; portal users cannot edit teaching or attendance records themselves.

Messages and announcements

Use Messages for private conversations with the relevant teacher. Adult learners receive their own messages and class broadcasts; parents and guardians receive messages for the children they can access. Management announcements also arrive privately, and no other learner or family sees your account or reply. You can opt into browser notifications on supported devices, but updates remain in the portal when push is off.

Resources shared by the madrassa

Open Resources in the portal navigation to find teaching files and website links chosen by the madrassa for you or a learner you can access. Each card says who the item is for. Search by title, description or tag, filter by category, and—if your account covers more than one learner—use the learner filter to narrow the list. Files download to your device; website resources open in a new tab.

When the person sharing a resource chooses to notify you, it also appears as a new item inMessages and may produce a browser notification if you have enabled push. Opening the resource from the Messages item or browser alert marks that notification as read. A push alert is only a prompt: the material remains available from Resources while the share is active, even if push is off, delayed or unsupported.

Resources are read-only for portal users. Downloading an item does not automatically give permission to forward it, so follow the madrassa's instructions. If an expected item is missing, a file will not open, a link appears unsafe or out of date, or an item seems to be for the wrong learner, use Messages or the madrassa's usual contact route so staff can check or withdraw the share. Withdrawal cannot remove a copy already downloaded.

Invoices and payments

The fees area shows the invoices and payment options available to your account. For an adult learner, this is their own fee record. A guardian with finance-only or full access can see the authorised finance view. Online methods vary by country and provider; the madrassa can also record cash or bank-transfer payments. See the portal section of the fees guide for the full flow.

Keep your account private

Do not share your login or invitation link. Update your password from the account menu and tell the madrassa when an email address, phone number, family relationship or adult access decision changes so access remains accurate.
