Recording progress & setting tasks

Progress records what happened in the lesson; tasks make the next piece of work explicit. Used together, they give the next teacher, management and the family one consistent picture.

Prepare the teaching options

Management first activates the Quran books and subjects the madrassa teaches. Teachers then see the relevant options for their assigned classes. If a book, lesson or subject is missing, use Setting up lessons, books & subjects rather than typing around it in notes.

Record Quran or subject progress

  1. Open Teaching → Progress, then select the class and date.
  2. Choose the Quran or subject view and find the student.
  3. Select what was read or covered, add the quality rating and write a useful note if needed.
  4. Review the changed entries and save them.

Qaida and Nazra entries record the learner's position and rating. Hifz keeps Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil distinct so new memorisation, recent revision and older revision do not collapse into one mark. Management can customise those three labels to match local terminology.

Write notes that help the next lesson

Prefer a short, observable note such as “repeat lesson 8 from line 3” over a broad judgement. Avoid sensitive pastoral information: progress notes are learning records and may be visible to the family.

Set and follow up tasks

Open Teaching → Tasks to set work for an individual student or a wider teaching group. Give it a clear title, instructions and due date, and attach the source material where useful. Completion status then lets teachers and parents distinguish open, completed and overdue work.

Use the student record between lessons

Open a student from the teaching workspace to see recent attendance, progress and open tasks together. That view is useful before recording the next entry: it reduces duplicate tasks and makes gaps or repeated difficulty easier to spot.

Review the wider picture

Parents see their linked child's records in the parent portal. Management can filter progress and task completion across classes in Reports.
